This is a recent pastel in response to the the first lines of W.B. Yeats' famous and prophetic poem THE SECOND COMING.   When I began this pastel painting, I didn't know that it was going to take on the form of our planet, with a red sky hovering.   Now it seems even more appropriate, with the COVID 19 virus changing our lives, I think, forever.  Changing our planet, perhaps we will listen better to warnings about what we are doing to our atmosphere. I love the earth, love all the creatures.   I hope this image will animate into a safe landing.
